Gills Going Green
By Faye Bramley
Keen to reduce our impact on the precious environment, we are taking part in Nottinghamshire City Councils ‘Electric Van Experience’ project.
This project was set up as a “try-before-you-buy” scheme for local businesses & allowed us to trial NCC’s electric vans for several weeks.
Our first impressions of the electric vans are very positive & we hope that most (if not all) of our vehicles will be electric/hybrid within the next 2 van cycles. Taking part in this project has given us more of an insight in to the benefits of switching to electric vehicles & making further steps towards becoming even more environmentally friendly.

“Widdow” was announced as the winner at the end of 2020 but due to the ongoing restrictions, we have had to patiently wait until it was safe to hand over his award.
We were eventually able to congratulate Steve in person in April 2021.

Celebrating GILL Insulation’s 70th Anniversary
By Faye Bramley
Gill Insulation was founded in 1948 by Commander Norman Gill & was originally based in Stoke to serve the potteries.
The Nottingham site was the next branch to open, this is where the Gill Group retains its Head Office, working alongside operations in Ipswich. Gill Insulation was later acquired by Encon Insulation Ltd in 1986.
To celebrate Gills’ 70th year in the business, we organised a party night on the 12th of May, where we invited staff, suppliers and ex/retired staff to help us celebrate. We enjoyed an evening of food/drinks and the opportunity for people to meet and mix with those whom they don’t often get the chance to catch up with. The whole night went down a success with a 5 piece band and a DJ. Considering the feedback given, the 70th Anniversary party was a night to remember!
